Wild Not Gone
Wild, Not Gone is a student-led campaign giving a voice to critically endangered animals in our own backyard, rallying support before it's too late. Because once they’re gone, the silence becomes permanent.
Wildlife is vanishing, and most of it happens in silence. Wild, Not Gone is a student-led campaign that refuses to let these disappearances go unnoticed. We are shining a light on critically endangered animals in our own backyards and rallying action before their stories end. This campaign is about turning awareness into protection, because once a species is gone there is no way back. Every shared story, every changed mind, and every small action brings us closer to keeping the wild alive.

Why This Matters
Silence Is the First Sign of Loss
Across North America, one in three wildlife species is at risk of disappearing forever. In Canada alone, populations have dropped nearly 60% since the 1970s. Many are keystone species whose survival determines the health of entire ecosystems. This crisis rarely makes headlines. It creeps forward quietly, one empty nest, one fallen tree, one shrinking habitat at a time. Once a species is gone, there is no way to bring it back. That is why we need to act now while “endangered” still means there is hope.

Our Mission
See Them. Hear Them. Save Them.
Led by students at Metro Prep Academy, Wild, Not Gone tackles this crisis by inspiring people to truly see the animals we stand to lose. We believe that by giving a voice to the voiceless, we can protect these species and prevent their disappearance. The louder we speak, the harder it is for these animals to disappear.
How We're Taking Action
-
Amplify the Voice
Student-led podcasts, interviews, and articles bring the stories of endangered animals to the forefront.
-
Wear the Message
Our Voices of the Wild enamel pins raise funds and spark conversations. Each one tells the story of a species on the edge.
-
Share the Knowledge
Free, student-created educational resources help classrooms across North America learn about and protect at-risk species.
Support the Cause
Voices of the Wild: Collectible Pin Series
To fund the campaign and raise awareness, we’ve launched Voices of the Wild: a line of collectible enamel pins, each representing a species at the edge of extinction.
Each pin comes with a species card featuring:
- Verified conservation status
- Native habitat region
- Primary threat to survival
- QR code to learn more or share the story
Wear them. Collect them. Speak for those who can’t.
